Data Science and Engineering Track

In Fall 2013, TU Berlin’s Faculty IV: Electrical Engineering and Computer Science formally approved a new track, which enables students pursing a Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business Informatics, or Information Systems Management to specialise and develop expertise in data analytics. In order to fulfill the requirements of this specialisation area, students from these aforementioned programmes will need to select from an approved set of courses in three core competencies, namely,

(1) scalable data analytics,

(2) scalable data management, and

(3) an application area.

This document [1]describes these skill areas, provides the most up-to-date (i.e., as of March  5, 2019) study schedule for each Master’s Programme, and offers general advice (e.g., on future job prospects in this field and comments on mentorship). Graduates who complete the prescribed courses will be awarded both a Master’s Degree and a Data Analytics Certificate issued by Faculty IV.

Please, find all information from TU Berlin’s International Office (all requirements in the TU berlin web) whether you might be eligable for regular studies in one of the CS, CE, or ISM Master’s programmes at TU Berlin – only as a registered Master’s student at TU Berlin you are a candidate to participate in this track !

Our ‘Data Science and Engineering track’, is NOT a full Master’s programme. Thus, it is not possible to enrol for the Data Science and Engineering track, you must be enrolled at TU Berlin for a regular Master’s programme in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Systems Management!
